Home is where the heart is and there is so much that makes a home. Such as the decor you place in it. I recently got to attend an event with MacKenzie-Childs to learn more about their beautiful unique pieces that really add so much character to your everyday life. But heres a little back story. About 5 years ago I was watching Jennifer from Haute Off the Rack’s stories and saw a beautiful teapot sitting in her kitchen. Then I fell in love. Out of curiosity I found that it was the Courtly Check tea kettle from MacKenzie-Childs. I immediately fell in love, it was something so fun and inviting about their pieces that instantly made me a fan! I knew that one day when I owned my own home, I would slowly start to add their beautiful pieces to my collection.
Fast forward to now! When we bought our home the first purchase I made for myself was this beautiful Courtly Check apron! In addition, I thought it would be perfect for baking and making some fun homemade dinners.
Recently I teamed up with MacKenzie-Childs to be apart of the Houston Takeover. This three day event, involved learning more about the brand, all the new pieces/collections. We also got to make flower bouquets, sip wine and even make our own pie plate all virtually. It was so much fun, if you didn’t catch the post you can see that here. It was an entire experience all from the comfort of my home! Being a part of this event just made me fall in love with the brand even more!
What makes them really unique is the handcrafted artwork on all their pieces and also the functionality that every piece can be used for! They really want their customers to think outside the box when it comes to using pieces from their collection. For example, you could turn one of their tea kettles into a vase with flowers and have it as a center piece in your breakfast nook. That’s just an idea, but there is so much more you can do which really allows you to have fun with the items!
After the event my collection slowly started to grow and I found myself using the items in my home everyday! So I thought it would be fun to share what items I have been loving and using frequently and of course a list for all my readers to help you find the links to the items.
Mackenzie-Childs is known for their kitchen decor so I always like to start in that area. For many people adding kitchen accessories is a great place to start when decorating your home. My favorite pieces are:
As listed above each piece really is apart of my everyday routine. The Tea Kettle has to be my favorite, recently I decided to switch over from coffee to tea. Not only is the Tea Kettle a perfect centerpiece to my kitchen stove, but it heats the water super fast allowing me to enjoy my tea in just a few minutes. I love drinking my tea in the Mackenzie Childs Mugs because they are so fun and vibrant.
Outside is where the entertaining begins. This is my place of peace. I love being able to set up a nice mini ambiance for guests to enjoy something sweet and refreshing. And two beautiful items that I love to use for hosting and entertaining would definitely be my Courtly Check Enamel Pitcher and Courtly Check Enamel Petal Dinner Plate.
If you love hosting then these are definitely going to be a must have. The checkered pattern really adds a fun touch to any outdoor table. And as we enter summer, I plan to host more fun gatherings in this space.
The beautiful pieces from MacKenzie-Childs really bring such a joyful and colorful touch to my home. One thing that I forgot to mention, that I love about all these pieces is the fun pattern play you can do with plates, cups, and so much more. Mix and match your pieces together and get creative. MacKenzie-Childs loves when their customers have fun with the different pieces from their collections. And this summer enjoy taking the family outside, have a picnic, enjoy a slice of pie, bake your favorite dish. And incorporate pieces from MacKenzie-Childs into your collection.
If you are like me and want to slowly start adding to your collection start with the items below. They are great favorites and will be perfect additions to your home.
